This article will really help your slow computer performance back to a newly bought computer when it was so fast. So let’s begin. Why do we need to defrag hard drive? Hard drives need to be defragmented because hard drives tend to slow its performance over and over by using it every day. Fragmented files occur when you are deleting, saving or changing files. And to help you solve this problem, defragmentation is needed to make your hard drive work efficiently by consolidating fragmented files.

It happened to me when I noticed that my computer doesn’t perform well lately. I thought it was virus or sort of malware running in background without my knowledge. So I scan my computer if there is really a virus but it found nothing. I also thought maybe an application was running by looking at the task bar hoping to find a running application that causes the reduction of computer performance but then again I also found nothing.

But good thing I remembered the process of how to defrag hard drive. I defragmented my hard drive and complete the process. This process really solved my problem for poor performance of my computer. Although it takes time to defrag your hard drive but it’s worth it waiting to fully increase the performance of your computer.

Well, there were many defragmenting tools but you may use your own built-in software in your windows 7 operating system. There were so many available programs on how to defrag hard drive that you may download but it’s up to you. But for me, I’m using the built-in defragmenting tool in my computer. Why need to download when it’s already there?

Now, you don’t need to call a technician and pay bucks to perform this trick. This will really save your money as well as your time. All you need to do is to follow instruction and all by yourself can do this. You don’t need to panic when you are confused. Just follow these easy steps I made for you.

1. Open computer and right click hard drive (the hard drive you want to defrag) E.g C: then select properties.

2. Select the Tools Tab and you will see three tools below. Select defragment now from defragmentation option.

3. As you can see there were two drives D: and C:. Select drive C: then click Defragment disk.

4. After that you need to wait for the defragmentation process to complete.
5. Then it’s done.
